WorldSkills Asia Online Mobile Robotics Junior Competition 2021

Studica and WorldSkills Asia are proud to bring you the 2021 Mobile Robotics Junior Competition.

This online challenge is based on the Waste Management Autonomous Robot Challenge with modified Performance Requirements. The main goal of the challenge requires competitors to build robots able to be managed in both a teleoperated and autonomous control format.

The Waste Management Court Layout presents a community in which competitors Mobile Robots work in support of a Waste Management Centre.

This will require the robot to be able to:

    • Navigate the community streets.
    • Manage waste objects of the same size but different colour and deliver to bins at up to 4 different depot locations
    • Take temporary possession of the individual waste objects (golf balls, individually or collectively) NOTE: Robots cannot remove bins from the depot areas
    • Place the collection of objects (golf balls) into the bins in depot areas
    • Retrieve individual objects (golf balls) from stands in the waste management centre.
    • Ensure that the different types of objects are always kept separate when they are in the possession of the robot
    • Deliver the sorted recycle objects (coloured golf balls) into each of the 3 designated bins in the specified depot location.
    • Operate in both autonomous and tele operated mode during each test run.

The “Simulated Community” Competition Performance Assessment Environments (Courts) provide:

    •  An Overall Exclusive Use 4 by 2 Meter Performance Space
    • A smooth, hard, white floor surface
    • Smooth, white perimeter and aisle walls
